The Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Mobile Application (CARMA) serves as a practical ACLS tool aimed at assisting healthcare practitioners during bedside resuscitation efforts.

Initial trials utilizing CARMA's algorithm have demonstrated a noteworthy 80% increase in survival rates following CPR attempts. This promising statistic highlights CARMA's potential impact on patient outcomes in critical scenarios.

The application is equipped with several features, including four independent countdown timers and swipable reference pages for Ventricular Tachycardia, Ventricular Fibrillation, and Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA). Additionally, it offers a comprehensive list of selectable Diagnostic Tips (H's and T's), along with recommended medication and non-medication treatment options. These functionalities position CARMA as an essential portable resource for healthcare professionals addressing cardiopulmonary arrest.

Included within CARMA is an audible CPR metronome that defaults to 100 beats per minute, along with timers for Epinephrine, Amiodarone, and overall code duration. The duration timer prompts leaders to reassess every 30 minutes, with unique vibrate notifications indicating the completion of each cycle. All timer settings, durations, and audible features are customizable through the preferences menu, allowing users to tailor the application to their specific needs.

Moreover, CARMA features an automatic logging process that tracks all activities within each resuscitation session. Elements logged include timer operations, H's and T's selections, rhythm determinations, as well as medication and non-drug interventions. Each entry is time-stamped for straightforward review, and session logs can be conveniently emailed for archiving. Importantly, in compliance with HIPAA regulations, no patient information is stored in the log or retained on the mobile device; once the application exits or resets, all logged data is deleted.

Overall, CARMA enhances healthcare providers' ability to manage cardiopulmonary events effectively by guiding them through ACLS protocols in real-time at the bedside, adhering to the 2014 American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines to facilitate improved clinical outcomes.
